Martin Reway Signs

The thought that the Habs haven't been winning is because they're small is wrong. Being big is not the answer, being talented is.

Right. I still remember the Habs beating the Booins' 600lbs line in the playoffs back in the day. Beautiful stuff to see speed kill size!

By reading this thread you'd never know just how competitive the Habs have actually been the past few years.

This last season has thrown so many people off their rockers.

Did you not understand size AND SKILL? The capital letters should make it clearer, if you didn't.

Oh, now that you made it in capital letters I understand... I thought it was an and/or situation...

I will capitalize a word to help you understand my comment... SARCASM

You are beating your head against a wall. We all pay lipservice to wanting to get bigger but as usual, when a small guy signs, then there will those fall over themselves to defend it.

Hell, I swear I read someone referring to averages to justify being small at forward.

High skill with size > high skill > size.

In the absence of high skill with size, which is very hard to attain, you go with high skill.

You guys remind me of the high maintenance chick that's never happy.

TSN's Gord Miller pi$$ed on Reway from a great height on the radio today. Basically he said what some of us hear feared from the outset: that he plays a certain style (euroweenie pantywaist, no doubt) that he won't be able to play in North America. He said that as soon as he comes up against bigger opponents who hit he will disappear.

Again, pretty much what some of us expect from smallish players regardless of skill level.

Oh well, if no chin Miller says so it must validate unreasonable expectations.

As usual we have too much of the same small skill guy , with Arturri, Reway, Zven , 51 etc...

My bet is on the Finn as the only man standing with 11 on the top 6 .

that is my issue as well

we always have too many of the same player

sure get a small guy or two, but we always end up with more than that, and as I wrote yesterday, it could be up to six 5'10 and under on the top 12 forwards. How many other teams can make that claim to fame.

You guys do realize these small skilled players are drafted in later rounds right? They aren't drafted as sure fire top six. The Habs take chances on skill players in later rounds regardless of size, if they work out then great.

The fact so many will be in camp is more of an indictment of the Habs first round drafting woes.

Add that to a soft forward group in general makes it even worse come playoff time .
