I suspect he did the Daily Show because he’s NYC for the UN gig? It gets good ratings in Canada but, yeah, mostly in the latte crowd.

Given current relations with the U.S. president elect it kind of makes sense. No real reason to limit yourself to Canadian media, that's not really how the game is played anymore.

the problem is that like 7 in 10 Canadians (or maybe more?) cannot identify him in a lineup.

the solution to that problem is unlikely to be found in American daily talk shows.

plus, I think the types of people who watch the Daily Show are already more likely to be familiar with or support Carney.

and yeah, he is definitely an elite.

It did it's job. I would never have thought of it, but it turns out that it was a brilliant idea.

This election is all about positioning relative to Trump and lowering cost of living. Also I think billionaire bashing would play well.
