New Canadian Politics Thread

Mind boggling that in this day and age, anyone looking to lead a country still has a black & white, punitive, brain-dead "drugs are bad, mmm'kay" policy towards drug addiction. Social conservatives are the fucking worst.
 
The Conservatives have a plan for dealing with the opiod crisis. Mandatory minimum jail sentences for addicts. Same plan they tried to pump during the Harper years.
 
There's a lot of angry people out there.

Scheer's opponents, like Trump's and Boris Johnsson's, need to ponder whey they have so many pissed off people voting for destruction.

There's a lot of angry people who just happen to line up with normal levels of CPC support?
 
When was the last time we have witness a political platform that encourages blatant racism and xenophobia?

That base usually stayed quiet and in the shadows in fear of public persecution. Now its becoming a social norm

Getting people to vote for dismantling government and shitting on the vulnerable started around 30-35 years ago, at least for the post-depression era. Some date it to Nixon but it really started with Thatcher in the UK.
 
I guess that would make it ~40 years. This shit has been around for a while. People have always been angry in numbers but getting them to vote for this crap is relatively new.
 
It's one of the key things that distinguishes current right politics from fascism. Growing and controlling the state is central in fascist ideology.

This is one of the most impressive underwhelming campaigns I've ever seen.

Let's thank the gods that the NDP and Conservatives are lead by AS and JS because by any conventional wisdom, the liberals should be getting wiped off the map. Instead they are within spitting distance of a majority again
