I think the three muppets working on Rogers tonight just guaranteed you guys the Cup.

One guy chose Edmonton, one chose Winnipeg, one chose Vancouver.

I feel like Vancouver is the most egregious of those choices.

But if the caveat after each answer was cause, the west is shit, then i mean, i guess.

They have.... Demko covered up a lot, and with the additions on defense, they've taken for granted playing a team defensive game and then the bad habits come back in the forward group that caused them so much trouble last year.
 
It's also about who makes it on these tv/radio panels -- mostly a much of ex coaches, Keefer type, low talent players who are suspicious of any high end talent that doesn't drop their mitts or use their elbows as weapons....so it's a chorus of "goaltending" and "they are built for playoff" analysis

hey I don't think a Canadian team will win either but why would you get upset picking those 3 over a team like Toronto who has no goaltending defence or penalty kill and hasn't been near the conference final in 20 years?? come on.
 
pretty skeptical myself for goaltending and coaching reasons mostly, so no issue with it. i'm guessing their reasons might be dumb (they probably think we NEED MOAR GRITTTTT or something) but same result.
 
tl;dr needed to trade Nylander for Hellebuyck to change hearts and minds

I'm not big on digging up Leafs past, if Jets will get credit for what happened 6 years ago.
Leafs do have goaltending.
 
Goaltending, coaching, special teams, and no more prime Brodie or Muzzin. It's a lot to overcome. Anyone who is truly optimistic is lying to themselves.

Team zen though. Playoffs will still be a blast. Can't let the pessimism ruin our enjoyment.

Frankly the blue line isn't great, and it's deployed in a manner that makes me think the coach bet on the other team, or has a long term concussion
 
Oddly enough, I’m not the least bit worried about the playoffs. I’m still very much a member of #TeamZen.

I’m also strangely hopeful about our chances.
