No Excuses No Limits! The mother fucking goddamn season thread

The joke was already made.

If you're going to be late to the party, at least be original.

And Tavares >>> Lindholm. Your opposite view is the only funny thing about your post.

Lindholm produces JT's 5v5 offensive production (without having a Willy on his flank) while doing all of the defensive heavy lifting for Calgary, and very well.

Lindholm is a legitimately good matchup centre who also happens to produce solid offensive numbers. JT is Iceman, Lindholm is Maverick

This is why Nashville traded Ekholm and why LA traded Muzzin. D that were still elite but into or heading into their 30s for teams that probably aren't gonna do much in the next 2-4 years. And if Calgary loses a top 2 d and their #1c then uh... Yeah their window suddenly makes a lot less sense for keeping Weegar.

The logic is backwards here. If they keep Lindholm and Hanifin tho, then that's more reason to run it back and keep the stud Weegar.
I swear, this is like the Zadina debate, except now we're talking about the Calgary GM's psychology instead.

My view is, if they are cellar dwellers by the deadline, those two won't want to resign, and they will have to trade them.

When they trade them (and Tanev probably), they'll have over $10M to use on UFAs and some really good trade capital back for Lindholm and Hanifin. So, they'll fill their roster with other guys, probably lesser guys, such as when Vancouver spent $5M on Mikheyev, signings like that. They'll run it back, but they'll have to run it back with replacements for the expiring UFAs who will leave.

this is alot of >>>

I assume this means that if they were a couple that Lindholm is in charge and on top?

Keep dreaming. He's a very good player, but Tavares is better.

Isnt it like, pretty god damn clear Hanifin doesn't want to sign already

mid tier ceiling in Alberta for a US Born D, sign him up.

Literally puts up Tavares 5v5 production, but in a real #1 centreman's role taking all of the heavy defensive lifting and the heavy offensive lifting.

Tavares lives a very charmed life as the #2C and 4th best forward on this team.

and if you get Lindholm, #3C, 5th best F, proud member of core 6.

Honestly you baffle me more than anyone especially with your food takes. But this one might take the cake as the most baffled I've ever been (no pun intended).

Fwiw...tale of the tape:

5v5, last 3 seasons

Lindholm: 2.23 P/60, 60.7% GF, 56% xG, 19.9 Dz Faceoffs, 10.4 dzs
Tavares: 2.13 P/60, 52% GF, 54,5% xG, 17.4 Dz Faceoffs, 7.2 dzs

Slightly more production, somewhat better 5v5 on ice impact, much harder defensive role.

*edit*...and just to show what Senor Cock looks like in comparison

Matthews: 3.05 P/60, 63.3% GF, 60.4% xG, 14.5 Dz Faceoffs, 6.2 dzs

Sheltered usage (though that's been tracking harder year over year, while John's is getting lighter year over year) but obscene production and impact.

Well we already know PP production doesn't count with Tavares, it's just his teammates that do all the work and he gets points awarded to him for participation.

Another day another lof ME Tavares debate. This is the longest series ever. The writers have truly run out of ideas.

A Weegar discussion. The topic couldn't be further away from Tavares if we tried. But we somehow landed there. Amazing. Not even mad. That's a tremendous accomplishment.
