OT: Politics & News... Have at it.

So basically, you left because you can't adapt or you are just intolerant. Good reasons.

Neither. I had a chance for a much better life elsewhere. I'd much rather be judged for a job based on my resume and who I am than on what my last is. Sorry if that to you makes me unable to adapt or intolerant. If I was intolerant, I'd bear ill will against the people of Quebec. That was never the case. One goes where one can give themselves the best possible life for their families. To this day, I still consider myself a Quebecer at heart.

I left to make more money. That's why a lot of people left. There are better opportunities outside of Quebec.

Other provinces put a focus on growing and jobs. Quebec should try it sometime.

Dunno man, still waiting on Quebec to generate a Google, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon even a has been like RIM...u know something converting scientific intellect to big time pay day...

Bombardier, Quebec's old economy manufacturing flagship can't even get its act together, and bordering bankruptcy.

?? it's the economy amigo. Over the last 25 yrs, Montreal did not kept up with many of it's NA rivals in terms of growth. In the 90s, most of my educated pals could only find part time work. EI/UI was a lifeline. The thing is, Montreal rents were so low, you could actually lead a decent life. Perfect if you were a bass player in an indie band, but kind of sucky for most people with more conventional ambitions.

Dumping my shares years ago was a great move. Turd will be a penny stock soon.

Trump isn't any crazier than the other Republican candidates. He's just got no filter. But make no mistake they all agree on these things. It's just that Trump is the only one who's willing to admit them in public. Trump's comments about Mexicans is shared by all the GOP candidates, even Ted Cruz, who's hispanic himself. Mike Huckabee wants to use the army to shut down Planned Parenthood. Chris Christie, that 400lb fast food munching model of self-discipline, wants to give out 10 year prison sentences for pot possession. Is that any crazier than the stuff coming out of Trump's pie hole?

Why do we need such a long campaign though?

Nobody needs it. But Conservatives want it. They have accumulated way more money to spend on ads, so a long campaign benefits them. In fact, we've already seen attack ads on Mulclair and Justin for months.

keep reading his platform... one of his ideas involves staging a military coup in a middle east country and siphoning their entire oil reserves in a few weeks. completely unrealistic, but makes for a really cool movie premise
