OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

Or.

The Jays are a leading candidate to sign either Santana or Jimenez; they have two protected first-round picks, Nos. 9 and 11, and would sacrifice only a second-rounder and the accompanying pool money for one of those free-agent right-handers.

It would also be wise to sign whichever one of these 2 before Tanaka signs, if possible.

That way teams still in on Tanaka can't have a plan B or C

According to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal, agents for Ubaldo Jimenez are telling clubs that he still expects to sign a multi-year deal worth at least $14 million annually.

Jimenez at $14 million per would be real great signing for the Jays...

The Dodgers, Angels, Cubs, Yankees and Diamondbacks have long been known to have a keen interest in the 25-year-old righthander who went a magical 24-0 with a 1.27 ERA for Rakuten, and earned virtual free agency via a revamped posting system that only will require the winning team to give $20 million to Rakuten, far short of what the Japanese teams received for previous Japanese pitching stars Daisuke Matsuzaka and Yu Darvish.

The Jays are among several others teams to have had multiple discussions with team Tanaka, but there was no word they had a meeting planned as of yet. Other teams reported to have some interest have included the Mariners, Twins and Rangers. It isn't known which other teams have a meeting planned besides the two Los Angeles teams, the two Chicago teams, the Yankees and Diamondbacks.

It is believed Tanaka, with agent Casey Close there, may have as many as five or six meetings planned per day, and the meetings are definitely continuing today.

I can't believe MLB doesn't round up....74.8 % ? Seriously?

To be fair, Biggio is a guarantee to get in next year and there's no difference between being a second ballot guy and a third ballot guy. Now, if he missed by that much on his first ballot last season... that would suck.

There's something momentous about being inducted in your first year of eligibility.

MLB hall of fame voting is a mess. Not sure why they let the baseball writers do it.

And the stupid moral high ground regarding PEDs is ridiculous. As if there aren't a bunch of guys in there already who took them. Bonds and Clemens are two of the best players to ever play the game. Their names are all over the hall of fame already. They are definitely going to get in. But you make them wait just to try and make a point that no one really cares about.

One Writer sold his vote to TMZ
Another writer for the past 5 years has voted for just Jack Morris
Over the past couple years Jacque Jones, Todd Jones, Kenny Rogers, Aaron Sele have received votes
Last year a voter had Biggio on his ballot, this year he did not, and he only used 9 total votes
