I don't see them going Conforto - a lot of risk in a guy who missed last year and wasn't great in 2021. I bet he still asks for decent money, if we have the money to spend, I'd rather use it on like Taylor Rogers and just trust my luck with waiver wire fodder in the OF if we want to take a ballsy gamble.
If he comes relatively healthy, Brantley would be the good addition. He's about as stable a bet as any to hit .290-.300 with a .360-.370 OBP as anyone out there. D is terrible by this point, but you only need him like 40-50 games in LF and then as a DH the rest of the time.
It is a tough year to want an OF. I mean, we're almost at the point of wanting Gallo, which shows how bad the options out there are. Would be really nice if we could pull something out of the C deal to fill that hole...
I cant understand not liking Conforto, but digging Brantley. Same bum shoulder, worse D ( like unplayable vs avg at worst), and Branley is 2 years older from when we wanted him. He could be legit roasted. I like him, but much prefer Conforto or Gallo ( ik ik, fuck off, he good)
Trade market is still a thing, and dealing a C for a SP is still possible but i have to think it's for an OF.
Zona- Varsho ( fuck yes, but costs Kirk or Moreno), A Thomas ( sigh, i'd rather not), McCarthy ( no)
Cleveland- Valera ( if it must be a prospect, sure, but, no)
Houston- McCormick ( okay, but now add to this, and i'm interested
San Diego- Grisham ( not sexy, but, maybe?)
Cubs- Ian Happ ( i think Jansen for Happ is the best idea here so far)
Marlins- ( i only see SP)
Rays-( ugh, dont trade with Tampa)
Red Sox- ( Jansen for Verdugo?, meh, no)
White Sox- ( Eloy?)
Pirates- ( Would probably need a 3 way to get Reynolds for a C)
Tigers- ( Meadows?)
