OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

Bass it is a solid pick up. Just a reliable mid-bottom of the rotation arm like Buhrle. Assuming Berrios rebounds they have a very good rotation.

the pen was by far this teams weakness though. They still have to address it. Other than that swapping Sterling for Bassit and Teoscar for a similar lefty bat doesn’t move the needle a whole lot. Especially if that bat isn’t as good as Teoscar.
Swanson helps, ideally one of Pearson/Zueleta helps, and a full year of Bass and Pop but id try for a high leverage guy. Maybe Britton or Green

KK is a decent addition, but I’m not sure that’s the difference maker move.

They had a monster 2021 adding Springer, Semien, Ray and Berrios. Since then they've kinda just been treading water. Ray and Semien out Gausman and Chapman in. Stripling and Teo out Bassit and ?? in.

If they really have an unlimited budget you'd hope they continue trying to put the team over the top from wild card team to legit contender. Especially while Vlad and Bo are still cheap (and here).

Oh i agree, he's great as a Tapia replacement

But say we sign Conforto or Gallo, i'd argue one of them and KK > Tapia and Teo.

Bassitt>Strip and an improved Pen.

We still have to get something for a C.

If we sign one of those corner OF, i would consider Jansen for Liam Hendriks.

Until some of the dummies understand that Canada is not a different planet I'm afraid it's overpay and trades...and trading is probably what they need to do now.

Is there any explanation why Gallo went from being a bad contact hitter to just overall bad last year? He hit .110/.217/.219 against LHP, which amazingly wasn’t even that much worse than his line overall. Even his defence was poor.

Gueriel doesn’t need to be platooned. Kiermaier can’t hit LHP either. I don’t see where Gallo fits in. But that’s mostly because he is terrible so if there is some reason that might not continue I guess they could consider it.

Lourdes very much does need to be platooned. If only for his absymal defense but the dude is streaky as shit.

Im optimistic that the shift ban helps gallo and that he re-finds his joy being away from NYY

My Pie in the Sky / MLB The Show 23 scenario:

Sign Correa, trade Bo + Salary (Kikuchi) for Acuña, and call it a day

I guess this would all depend on what Dansby Swanson situation is....
