OT: True Crime

So, I watched "DB Cooper, Where Are You?" on Netflix. It was decent, since I really didn't know the story all the well. It was interesting that there are theories that he was a Canadian. The name he gave the airline was "Dan Cooper" and apparently Dan Cooper is a comic book character who is in the air force and jumps out of planes. So it may not be a coincidence that he used that name.

If he was Canadian... maybe 2 years later, he robbed the CIBC in Kenora. 🤔
I thought that series was pretty weak, but probably because I knew most of the facts about the case already. Would love to know if he survived, seems unlikely but we'll probably never find out.

I think both Cooper and the Zodiac are most likely people we've never heard of.

Yeah, it wasn't very good. Probably could have been much, much shorter. If you go in expecting it to be more about the DB Cooper fan community, it's okay.

Lemmino’s DB Cooper doc was better imo….and his Jack The Ripper one tops any other I’ve seen on that case, too.

….the fact he asked for “American Currency” (which would be odd from an American)… also made some think him being Canadian was plausible.

Watched this on CBC Gem this past week, and fucking loved it. The guy who plays the bigger detective is bloody brilliant in it, as is Freddy Fox as Jeremy Bamber.

I’d known nothing about this famous UK case, so if made for a remarkable watch….nice tight 6 episode mini-series.

Pacing is slow to start, but it sets a brilliant tone.

I'll watch anything with Stephen Graham in it.

Not even worth throwing on? Worse than Crystal Skull?
Never bothered with crystal skull but I assume it is better than that.

If you're a big fan of the series it might be worth it. The last half hour is decent but getting there was painful.

I had already listened to a podcast about it, but Painkiller: The Tylenol murders is pretty good. Surprised no one thought of safety precautions on bottles prior to this.
Really feels like the one suspect they had did it.

On the final episode "The Act" right now. Pretty crazy story. Not surprised that Patricia Arquette won an Emmy for it.
