OT: Vacations

Geez, I think I am the only one who has not been delayed at Pearson recently.

Showed up to terminal 3, checking with checked bags took 20 min, 4th person in security line and then flight was on time.

Flew Air Transat FYI
You should be on the ship now no? Or is it Monday departure?

My daughter has had a few flights this year and at Pearson Terminal 1 seems to be the nightmare, she too has had good luck at Terminal 3

Heads up to anyone looking to book all inclusives...

Looks like almost every flight today and yesterday at Pearson was delayed or cancelled. Mine's delayed 10 hours so far.
We flew in and out of Pearson at end of June without really any issue. About an hour delay on our way out. That’s nutty.

Yeah we flew flair and I don’t think there was even a line at security.

2pm board and yes royal caribbean.

If anyone is going to lauderdale and doesn't want to stay right on the beach I would highly reccomend "Element downtown fort lauderdale" which shares the property with "The Dalmar"

They said staff shortages. They've got 18 delayed so far this morning, one is leftover from yesterday afternoon.
I really don’t get this either anymore.

A busy local coffee shop closed at 3 pm yesterday and put a sign on the door saying it was due to staff shortages. On a Saturday.

Don’t people need to work anymore? Do unemployment checks not run out after a certain point?

Have a flight to Calgary end of August. Another to Mexico in January. Hopefully they will figure out the logistics by then.

Extra five hours of work at 7.5 bucks an hour gets you what? six cans of pop?

Well pandemic taught people they can really live without certain things. Inflation just made things worse.

Increase wages, decrease prices, then maybe it's worth taking on that extra shift.

That’s what minimum wage is there still?? It’s like $16 over here now.

Even so, with inflation I’d think it’d be that much harder to get by and people would be competing to get those extra 5 hours to keep putting food on the table and gas in their cars.

No self respecting ethnic would close their shop due to staff shortages. You work yourself to midnight if you need to and put up a sign asking for patience.

Closing the shop makes me cringe.
