Jake Allen is the starting goalie for the Habs. If Seattle is willing to retain 4-5 million of Price’s salary per year, they should be able to flip for a nice package of players/prospect to make it worth their while to take Price. For the Habs, the rebuilt/retool would begin immediately.
They you spend to replace him and rebuild your team.
It’s not the worst problem to have
Sign Dreidger for half the price/Price.

So, Seattle would have to get Price to agree to go to the team that Seattle would want to trade him to. May limit the number of trade partners too much for Seattle’s liking.
