TML? More like FML, amirite? Yet Another Off Season Thread

It strikes me as really weird that we're playing it so cool with the RFAs - again. They frankly should've been signed a while ago.

If there's one thing that Dubie doesn't handle in the way I would (again, I'm on the same page as him almost always), it's the delaying of RFA extensions. He keeps waiting till the contracts expire and then gets fucked. Matthews, Marner, Nylander. Only Rielly was handled differently, which I thought signaled a change in approach. I kept crying for Lilly, Sandin, and Engvall to be signed during the season. Maybe waiting works out when it comes to Engvall, but I doubt it does much with Sandin, and Lilly is in a much stronger position now.

No, not in a strong position, but not really in a weak one either.

I don't see him signing for like $1.75M over 2-3 years or anything.

TL;DR Varlamov-Riemer
Is that what they recommend or is that your deduction after their choices.

They have 16 targets according to the headline.

I had Varlamov in my pool this year and he was not good. Had a few injuries as well.
I also had Reimer..and although he gave SJ some wins, he was not stable at all.

He may have to play a bigger number of games if Varlamov is hurt again.

Also, I am tired of these flopping "athletic" goalies. I want big and steady. (not Freddie)

I'd rather lose the same number of games and by the same number of goals with a goalie that won't potentially explode his groin because they are out of position.

Ned had some really good numbers and games with a bad detroit team this year.. however he too is like Mrazek as in all over the ice.

As a back up sure, but I think he established himself a little in Detroit that he fancies himself a starter now.

I want to throw every last dollar of cap space at goalies. I want to also sign a third goalie who is injured or at least plans to be and just leave him on LTIR all year just for emotional support.

Varlamov is #1 on his starters list, and Riemer is #2 on the back up list, behind Nedeljkovic (which I don't really get).

I listened to a Ned interview after he signed with detroit. That guy has some confidence issues. I do not think he would do well in this marketplace.
