TML? More like FML, amirite? Yet Another Off Season Thread

Honestly, its not too bad. You just put the cream on it whenever there is a flare up. You barely notice it the rest of the time.
Good enough for you to win the noble Lapin’s Hip Check of the Day Cup award. Congrats mate!

Bartend, another Sam’s!

A bientot !

it's the same as his last deal. I can see quibbling about year 4 but honestly at 2.1m it's not an issue to dump him somewhere if we have to.

What do you mean by stylistic?
Im not sure what causes it but It’s like how some teams seem to be able to bloat the save percentages of goalies. We seem to do the opposite even when it looks like we don’t allow that many chances and have good team defence. This of course could just be a total fluke and be due for some regression to the mean.

I wake up today and apparently Jarnkrok getting 2.1 per is some shocking big money LOL
I was actually thinking what a great contract it is. What’s $2.1m anymore? Nothing. So to have a legit reliable bottom 6 center locked up for 4 years at that price is pretty awesome.

I was thinking yesterday that I think Dubie has realized it’s a mistake to let some of these guys do 1-2 years and then move on. I’m wondering whether he lost Strome because he insisted on 2-3 years at $3.5m and didn’t want to just give him one year and then either have to pay him $5-6m with some term and then watch him walk.

I hope with the remaining guys out there he’s trying to do something similar. Wait till they get desperate enough and then get a freebie year or two tacked onto the deal to make it a true value signing.

Jarnkrok demands these long-term deals. He has done twice now. His last deal was 6 years at 2m per. This contract means he'll be paid around 2m per year for 10 years straight. This was a player driven decision that not every player prefers to do (and in UFA season, the players run the show). It's up to the teams to either comply or move on. Dubas obviously felt it was worth it.

I noticed that the other day. That he got a $100k raise after all those years at $2m. It definitely looks worth it to me.

Yeah some guys just prefer the stability that Jarnkrok clearly does. Others would take a shorter term for more money and sorta bet on themselves that they won't go to shit before their contract is up. If I were in the NHL I'd probably do what Jarnkrok does. Seems smart.

The term is a bit of a risk because he is 31 and sucked last year. But it’s a contract that should be easy to dump at any point.

and if he rebounds it’s very, very good value.

Kadri will get paid. He's simply waiting for the space to open, and it will.

I still see him taking Gaudreau money off Calgary. He's a Sutter type player too.
