Much safer than not caring about Jacks stats.
Think he’s more likely to be traded by the deadline than play for us come playoffs. Predicting Dubas is gonna give up bigger prospects this year and go all in to make Matthews happier before extension talk and end of his own contract.
Been very little indication of our staff fully utilizing our prospects come playoff time and they rather have the gud pros in the line up - even if they suck

Eh, I think they ditch their 1st and other stuff before including Knies in any deal.
If memory serves, we tend to rarely see top prospects moving on deadline day. It's always high picks and mid-tier prospects.

kinda crazy that he is the only forward other than the big three that was drafted by us. explains our forward depth issues quite a bit.

In short, the Leafs developed a fuck load of good forwards, just didn't keep them for one reason or another (Brown, Hyman, Johnsson, Kappy, Moore, Marchment.
Hunters drafting kinda fucked them because their replacements never came. Although it looks like Dubas will produce a bunch (Robertson, Knies, Hirvonon, Abruzesse, Holmberg, Steeves. There is just a multi year gap between the generations.

Joseph Woll is the only Leafs prospect picked under Hunter outside of the first round that is still with the team. And they had 27 picks in 3 years.
Thats the biggest difference between the Leafs and the dynasty Hawks. They pulled multiple good NHLers from their "tank" years.

Hunter's drafting prevented the Leafs from becoming the Hawks. The Hawks had a couple drafts where they had a million picks and drafted guys like Byfuglien, Vergsteed, Crawford, Brower, Bolland etc in the mid rounds.
If they pull even 2-3 good NHLers out of 24 non first round picks they easily make at least 2 second rounds.

Which forwards that we drafted did we lose in the last few years? Mikky was a free agent. Hyman and Kapanen we traded for. We drafted Johnsson. Grundstrom. Just two??
