TML? More like FML, amirite? Yet Another Off Season Thread

Well there was no contract dump in my proposal. Muzz and Kerf should have pretty good value, and while they're no use to a rebuilding team, they should be able to be flipped for nice stuff at the deadline.

So....what are the chances the Leafs can sign and trade for Tkachuck? He's what the Leafs need and Dubas better be doing everything possible to get him here.....that is if he's willing to sign in Toronto.

Give them Nylander....heck, give them Marner if you have to.

It's interesting to me Matthew Tkachuk's disappointing playoff numbers are irrelevant. Does his "Intangibles" help in the playoffs?
That family is pretty brutal in negotiations. He's getting 10+ per.

“At least the fuckin’ Leafs are going to lose Matthews too” is the baby blankie that a whole bunch of Flames homers and media members are no doubt soothing themselves with right now.
Here's the issue, Calgary didn't offer him the big deal until the last minute. Dubas will be giving Matthews that crazy contract the first day he's eligible to sign next July.
I understand why Calgary didn't do it. He wasn't established like a Matthews. But I do feel he would have signed had they given him that crazy offer last summer, Leafs aren't waiting.

As much as I'd like to join in on the Tkachuk sucks and isn't better than Nylander parade... I think he's good. And he'd be fun to acquire. Not that they will, mind you.

He's real good. I just find the playoff issue interesting. HIs intangibles are great in the playoffs supposedly, but he' s not scoring much at all.

I feel like that top-line in Calgary was 90% Johnny Hockey and he dragged Tkatchuk and Lindholm on for the ride, but I have nothing to back that up.

That was just a really good line. Gaudreau had his best years with Tkachuk.

Tkachuk is good, and hes the perfect player to play with highly skilled players. He also played with Matthews and Marner in junior. He's physical, good around the net, but he has the skill to match too. He can finish and is an even better playmaker.

But not ideal to trade for a sign a guy like that after the year he just had. If you could have swap him out for Willy in the past, maybe that made sense. But to swap him out for Willy, and pay him $3-4 mill more, does that really make you better? I mean if 2022 Tkachuk was legit yes, but its unlikely. That whole line played above their heads. Still a very high end player. But so is Willy.
