TML? More like FML, amirite? Yet Another Off Season Thread

Won’t be surprised if hockey becomes a boomer sport in the end with the shit marketing by the NHL and the cost to play it.

Most of the major sports will be...I can't think of too many people under 50 that have the patience/time to sit through 3 hours of anything (football, footy, hockey, baseball). There'll be a big shift in how sports are viewed in the near future to compete with all of the other distractions out there.

At this point you've gotta play him until he flat out fails. Give him a real opportunity on a scoring line with PP2 minutes and just live with the results for a few months. At least then if he does end up back in the AHL, you have a realistic idea of what he needs to work on to make an impact in the show. Of course, a bit of good fortune in the other direction and the Tavares-Nylander line replaces Kerfoot with a 30 goal scorer.

No! I want him in the AHL till he's 26 minimum and can score 100 points.

If they give him another year of marinating down there, they're stupid.

Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Engvall - Tavares - Nylander
Robertson - Jarnkrok - Kerfoot
Kubel - Kampf - Anderson
(Steeves - Holmberg - Abruzzese)

That 3rd line gets caved in unless Jarnkrok bounces back heavy, and Robertson becomes a play driver that he hasn't been at the NHL level before.

Plenty of guys still available. They'll want to leave some slots open for their kids but I suspect they will add a couple guys before the season begins.

no it doesn't.

That's two quality established borderline top-6ers plus a top prospect.

That's one guy who consistently produces the worst play driving numbers on any line he's on, and another who is 31 coming off of a season where he got caved, and has never been much of a play driver either....and then a 21 yr old who might still be junk at 5 on 5.

and before you try to pretend that Kerfoot was good last year, let's play a little game of with/without. Kerfoot's linemates xG%

Tavares:
W: 51.9%
W/O: 56.2%

Nylander:
W: 51.3%
W/O: 59.4%

Kampf:
W: 47.2%
W/O: 52.1%

Pierre:
W: 50.7%
W/O: 55.5%

Nice sheltered oifensive 3rd line featuring 2 proven 45pters and a top scoring prospect. Dynamite.

Kampf with two grittskys for some tougher usage depth.
