Amazing that in all likelihood, for yet another year we’ll be spending $3.5M of our scarce, precious cap space on Alex Kerfoot.

A milquetoast midget 40-50 point forward who’s utterly incapable of playing center or raising the level of play of his linemates, and who has a talent for taking idiotic penalties.

All because Dubas is either shit at evaluating him as a player, or he has some faint hope that Kerfoot will provide some vindication to what right now is the worst trade of his career. Or some combination of the two.

When it's a 10-15 goal winger who only works on the 2nd line when its a quasi 1st line in quality, yeah he is.

Let's be clear about something. Putting up 51 points while glued to Tavares and Nylander all year isn't really an accomplishment worth paying for.

In a vacuum, this is true.

But the issue has always been that it’s not a good use of limited cap space on this particular team, and that he also doesn’t fill any particular area of need for us.

And this is also why it seems like such a no-brainer to trade him. He wouldn’t be a cap dump. You should be able to get some value for him, on top of the cap space you’d clear.

Thing is....Kerfoot is actually a pretty terrible offensive play driver. Moving Kerfoot and replacing him with someone who generates shots for would improve us offensively.

I just assumed the Holl trade is to clear the $2m for Boosh for the next 18 years.
