2019 NHL Off Season News Thread

Vancouver re-signs Brock Boeser, 3 years/$17.625 million, AAV $5.875 million. He gets a $3 million signing bonus each of the first 2 years and salaries of $700k/$3.125M/$7.5M

Bruins re-sign dman Brandon Carlo, 2 year/$5.7 million. He gets $2.2M this year, $3.5M next.

Not sure where to put this, but is Boomer Gordon coming back to NHL Network Radio? I was sad when Patrick O'Sullivan and now, no Boomer-- anyone know??

I hope you're right, CMal. I wondered if he was just out for a vacation before the season formally starts-- there's only so much of Mick Kern I can handle...

I'm pretty sure Boomer said a few weeks ago that he would be back the week of Sept 23rd after working most of the summer. Just on a break.

I got the $25-30 6 month deal for a long time. They kept letting me re-up. Then it jumped up in price and I finally cancelled it. They've offered me a free 3 month "welcome back" offer that I may take.

Sirius tried to jack my rate up from 150 bucks a year to over 300. 5 minute call and we’re back at 150.

They are comical with their customer service, they tried the jacked up rate with me after a year of the intro rate...I just put my mouth on repeat for about 15 minutes with my drop dead price of the same price as last year, take it or leave it. They took it. It’s hard to justify paying more than $150, which is where I’m at too.

From McKenzie: Dustin Byfuglien is on “personal leave” from Winnipeg and is believed to be pondering his NHL future. He’s in the 4th year of a 5 year contract with a $7.4 million AAV but $8 million actual this year and $6 million next.

Interesting. Should Byfuglien elect to retire expect the pundits to immediately restart rumors about Faulk to Winnipeg (even though I suspect Winnipeg is also on Faulk's no trade list). Add in what has been going on with Laine and its almost certain that we will start hearing about Faulk++ for Laine rumors even if there is nothing really there.

Winnipeg isn’t that far from home for him though, less than a 90 minute flight to Minneapolis.

Edit: LeBrun just tweeted that he believes that Winnipeg is on Faulk’s approved list.

And right on cue, LeBrun tweeted an hour ago about Faulk to Winnipeg. LeBrun believes Winnipeg is on Faulk's approved list. That won't be the last tweet speculating about Byfuglien/Faulk/Winnipeg
