The Senators and Connor Brown avoid arbitration, he gets 3 years/$10.8 million. Actuals are $2.8/$4/$4. He was coming off a 3 year/$6.3 million contract.

The Caps re-sign Jonas Siegenthaler to a 1 year/$800k contract. It’s a modest raise over his QO of $787.5k. He was not eligible for arbitration.

Kroenke Sports and Entertainment have announced an agreement with Ball Corporation, which includes the naming rights for the arena in Denver used by the Avs and Nuggets. After 21 years, the arena’s name will change from Pepsi Center to Ball Arena. KSE has also engaged Ball as its sustainability partner, and the agreement encompasses all KSE teams and facilities including the LA Rams, Colorado Rapids in MLS and Arsenal soccer club in England. Ball introduced recyclable aluminum cups in a few places last year, replacing plastic beverage cups. They have a new factory coming online in Georgia that will boost cup production from 2 million to 500 million.

Ball Corp? The people who make re-usable glass jars that Grandmas use to preserve peaches? Umm ... OK.

Actually they no longer make the jars , they spun that off into a separate company but the new company still uses the Ball name. How many businesses have their name on a university like Ball State? I guess Duke is another example. The company was started by 5 Ball brothers.

Ball HQ is now in Colorado so that is probably one reason for this.

there was a restaurant in N Raleigh that served soft drinks in those jars. Can't recall the name it was long ago Colony Shopping center on six forks at millbrook. Maybe lock stock and barrel?

The old Italian Oven served them in Mason jars. They were a chain, there was one on Creedmoor and Strickland and another on Kildare Famr and Cary Parkway.

Lock, Stock and Barrel. You are quite right. Dropped 2 racks of those one night. Not many survived.
